What's the logic begind W.E not having new content (are we forgetting the expanded chapter 14 and Armiger Unleash...) = mismanaged? The vanilla game already had a long playability of 90hs, about the same as VII & VIII, and W.E made it 20hs longer, I don't see why I needs to be longer.
Speaking for myself, I was replaying chapter 1 last night. In my mind, I was thinking of what they could have added story/lore-wise to fill in some gaps. Then I started going over a wish list of what I would add to the game. It ended up being, well, more of what they already have - more dungeons (Pitoiss!), more hunts, more banter, more set pieces, more! more! more! This could easily be a 200h game, and I wouldn't care one bit.

If i ever meet some one who has spent money on this game, I'm going to slap em
The way I figure it, I'll never understand what could possess someone to spend money on that game, but some percent of it is going to Squenix as free money, and if that free money is invested back into proper FF games... well, it's their money to waste. ;)

With that said, the people spending the most money on games of that sort are probably the equivalent of gambling addicts, so they're probably more in need of an intervention than a slap. >_>;

Because one of the selling points of the release was to have extensive modding capabilities. That's what was advertised. Not just better lighting and tall grass.

Edit: on the SE website they are only advertising the Mod Organizer for FFXV WE. 90% chance the Level Editor is cancelled.

I wouldn't count on it unless they throw it around the time the Ep Ardyn is released. I feel like the only reason why we are even getting the FFXIV Event was because it was already worked and a good chunk done based on the datamine. And for Ep Ardyn they are just reusing older assets; like I seriously doubt we'll see any new custom character models other than human Somnus or something that can quickly be made by their character editor. The pre-invaded Insomnia was technically already made they just needed it to be retextured from what the film used and optimize the poly count to something luminous engine could handle. They showed a game render of it in the Dossier when the Royal Edition came out so it seemed like it was already being worked on as well before the cancellation. I would be really surprised if we get any additional mechanics or assets whether in the Windows or console versions at this point unless they plan on doing something as a farewell or thank you when Ep. Ardyn comes out but even then it will be small or something they were close to finishing before SE decided to move on to other projects officially.

Edit: I realize I tend to naysayer all the time on the forum I don't mean to be. I rather just not give my hopes up. What happened to Windows Edition is kinda messed up and kinda blows that it was mismanaged too, like they spent way too much time trying to make it pretty rather than creating assets so it had longer playability. I feel like this game has been cursed from the beginning (It is technically the 13th installment if you don't count XI and XIV) and it's just been one disappointment after another starting from it's delay, to it's narrative changes to it's general release. Let's hope the FFVII (we'll find out in February) and FFXVI will be in a better state on release and better streamlined.
It would be nice if they put a black chocobo or something like that in the extended map of Insomnia, similar to the Regalia Type-D replica. It would be a nice touch to those who love and support the game until the end.

A man can dream.. XD

SE should have cut a better deal with the revenue for this, because I bet they're kicking themselves for not making it a constant revenue stream at more frequent intervals and with a higher cut instead of a upfront thing and every quarter with additional fee's , and then only more royalties after a certain threshold of sales is passed.
Square making a bad business move? Say it ain't so! lol

I mean how many of you predicted this mobile game being this profitable in the first place? I think the managers at Square probably had the same expectations you had when this little game was announced.

It's easy to laught and make fun of stuff in hindsight.

Given that it's basically a reskin of all the other MachineZone games like Game of War and Mobile Strike I expected it to do around the same as those, it even has the same advertisement tactic as those games do.

I knew it was gonna make a shit ton of money just by sheer virtue of mobile gaming being extremely popular in Japan and even in the US a lot of people play these sorts of games where you manage an army/kingdom. Slap the Final Fantasy name on it and you've instantly doubled your chances of making money by using a recognizable brand.

Unless the new Comrades standalone has new recipes that carry over into the main game I highly doubt i'm going to download it. The concept was interesting and I really liked the combat changes they made. Like with the new magic system being tied to MP, the sigils, and the unique effects were great but that grind was miserable and extremely repetitive, especially with the load times. And dear christ, the protect the house/hut/ market missions were so broken.

The new standalone version is free for those who have the normal version. The old version will be deleted, so you need to download the standalone version.

And also, it will carry over your progress and all, except the trophies. I don't know what will happen with the trophies.. and they have not say anything about it.

PD: I really don't want to start all over again just for the god damn trophies.

It really makes me wonder, what was their reasoning to release Comrades standalone besides getting some cash out of it?
The expansion was never popular and after the first few weeks there was barely anyone playing it. Maybe they thought someone would just be interested in it for the sake of it being a multiplayer game, but the game doesn't even have a proper gathering hub system.

Tbh I was hoping they'd implement its combat features into the main game instead somehow, but instead they decided to double down on it being a separate experience, which is a shame.

It's also an odd choice since one of the biggest complaints about the game is that it feels fragmented even with these DLCs due to lack of integration and in response to that SE is basically fragmenting the game even further by taking something that was at the least accessible from the menus and separating it from the game altogether. Comrades standalone as a whole just seems like so much wasted resources for nothing.

Honestly it pisses me off that the gap between the standalone Comrades update and the last patch release from March(?) is this wide.

Seeing as the community numbers aren't exactly that high on consoles, and almost non-existent on PC, i just can't see how the team can expect more than a mild spike to happen for Comrades' player base once it releases. I hate feeling this way but with my already low desire to get back into Comrades again, i would have rather wanted updates for the main game this month while letting Comrades be put to rest after it's March patch. :/

At least the XIV collab still exists.
