Ever since Nomura left as a Director of Final Fantasy XV, i'm kinda worried that Tabata might change anything to Nomura's vision. Tabata assured us that the story will stay the same, now that Stella removed from the story and the "Meeting Predestined by the Divine" meeting is now removed, makes me worried even more! that scene could've been the most iconic scene in years. However, Tabata did not mention that the fight scene have been removed.

Here are some notes:
Is Final Fantasy still part of Fabula Nova Crystallis?
Will Etro appear to the story (or rename her as a goddess of death)?
Will Noctis and Luna meet in a similar way?
Will Noctis and Luna fight each other?
Is "A World of Versus Epic" still exist?

Yes, it is still is a part of the FNC. But the whole stuff around L'Cies was scrapped.

Yes, Etro should still have an important role in the game.

No, they're not meeting at the ceremony party anymore. But as I already stated elswhere the whole versus XIII Stella was already changed when Nomura was still on board. We know that she was still in the game back at E3 2013 but we also saw her ( who else?) as a child and Noctis at the beginning of the trailer. Nomura stated several times in the past that both meet for the first time at the peace ceremony party at the beginning of the game so that wouldn't make sense anymore. The changes probably didn't work out very well and they didn't know where to go with the character anymore. But I wouldn't be surprised if we'll see Luna taking over at least the part of that little girl in the beginning.

Who knows? Maybe, maybe not.

No, the idea of "a world of a versus epic" is scrapped. Most likely one of the main reasons why we see those changes now.

Edit:
to clarify the 3rd point: Luna Stella !
But I wouldn't be surprised if some (story) elements were carried over to the new character.

Yes it´s still part of FNC, l´Cie, fal´Cie and so on are still in the game, albeit ""removed from the script"" according to Tabata/Nomura (can´t remember who said it). what exactly that means is unclear.

If FFXV is still in FNC then Etros (or how ever you want to call her) surely is. She´s the logo woman.

The "meeting predestined by the Divine" can still work without Stella as Lunafreya now takes her role , moreover aside from that vague plot point it was never said in wait conditions/circustances said meeting plays out, there´s a lot of possibilities.

As far as Noctis and Luna meeting, i think they will meet at some point but obviously it won´t at Lucis-Niflheim peace sign party. My theory si that they will meet at Accordo before it is being invaded and it will play in a similar fashion to the VersusXIII party scene.

Noctis and Luna fighting.... maybe .

"A Word of Versus Epic" , i´d say that probably it doesn´t exist anymore as Tabata and SE wants FFXV to have one coherent-conclusive single story without any kind of expanded universe material, though i would question if that even was a thing back in 2013 as Nomura said that a sequel was not in their plans.

FFXV is part of Fabula Nova Crystallis because it still shares the same mythos (at least some part of it). The goddes figure in this artwork from the demo ending is definitely Etro, so she's still in.

It's safe to assume that most of Stella's story was scrapped. According to Tabata they had to remove her because she didn't make sense in the game's story with all the changes they made. From what the old trailers showed, conflict with Noctis was a big part of Stella's story, most likely the part that didn't make sense anymore.

After learning a few things. I'm kinda wondering why they even bothered to change her name to begin with? From my understanding, Luna is Stella with no plot holes. Plot holes nobody knows anything about. They could have avoided this mess and not say anything about it if they just kept her name.

Would I say it's too early to tell at this point. Until we learn more story details, of which we basically know nothing for the most part, you could make arguments either way.

That's what's scratching my brain a lot at the moment.
My personal explanation is that since her (Lunafreya) role was quite different from that of Stella, it didn't make sense to use the name of Stella on Luna.

Botton line , different role = direferent character = diferent name is needed. At least thats how i see it.

My guess is that the new name holds some symbolic importance. Or something like that. But I doubt it's just "Stella minus plot holes". Didn't they say Luna wasn't going to be Noctis's enemy, unlike Stella? That's not a plot hole, that's a complete change in roles.

Yeah, i bet it has some symbolic deep within XV plot. They did say Luna will have a different role than Stella though they didnt confirmed that Luna will not have the antagonist role that Stella (supposely) had.

That has yet to be determined but I would think the change in the first place does in fact come from something that has been made available to the public.

It can't be something we know nothing about. Cause if it is, then there was no reason to make such announcement. They could have kept the Stella name and nobody would notice anything.
