...did you even pay attention to the official translation? The English ATR made it clear that cellphones were an Insomnia thing and didn't exist outside of Lucis, so Luna wouldn't have had a phone in the first place.

Using incomplete fan translations to criticize Tabata while ignoring the official translation isn't a good look.

Then how come some NPCs have cellphones then? Doesn't Dino have a phone? Why wouldn't Luna have one?

Galdin Quay is a part of Lucis.

Lucis is the continent, with Insomnia as its capital.

Tenebrae, where Luna is from, is on the Niflheim continent.

Dino's also a journalist with shady connections, which makes it pretty plausible that he'd have visited Insomnia and been able to get a cellphone from there. =P

IIRC, the only phone user without direct ties to the Crown City is Wiz from the Chocobo Post. Even he's located in Lucis, though.

Given her backstory, there's no way she nor any of the people who worked for her could have possibly visited Insomnia in the past twelve years -- Tenebrae was an Imperial province, Luna was under Imperial watch, and Lucis was at war with the Empire. Per Kingsglaive, it also seems likely that Ravus would have tried to prevent her from communicating with people in Insomnia.

I don't think there's anything weird about her not having a phone, as long as they're uncommon beyond the Wall.

This thread is just bait. I think there are definitely questions to be asked about the development process of the game, the things communicated and the promises made - no doubt in places FF15 disappoints. But this thread is helping none, so I'm locking it. If somebody wants to remake a thread with the same core backbone of questioning what we were sold pre-release versus what we got, I'm all for it, but not in this fashion. The tone of the first post destroys any possibility of a real discussion.
