Here a japanese outlet did a hands on impression of the DLC and has some screenshots: http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/1049018.html#11_s.png
We already knew Gilgamesh would come back, would this be FFXV rendition of him?
is that suppose to be Gilgamesh?, I could barely recognize him, not a big fan of the design, I wish they went with something like the Type-0 design, or the XIII-2 design.
I'm also not a big fan of the music, some parts are good but some of it just takes away from the atmosphere.

So just watched the 15min gameplay video for the Gladio DLC.

The dungeon design look and feel is fantastic just like the ones in the base game. Really liking the rib like rock formations.

Well, that answered my question of whether we can expect new music or not. It reminds me of DMC3 music, but that's not surprising seeing as Shibata did work on FFXV after all.

Also..Cor's snark in that video... lol what a guy xD

I mean duh Gladio...

Gladio: So the blade master...

Cor: He's the master of blades. What? Where you expecting something profound?

Score Attack
Hall of Fame
Final Trial

LOOOOOOOOOOORD

also is it just me or did Gladio appear sentimental ?
He appeared like a man who got his pride stomped on, so yeah kinda.

Cor is very no nonsense. But then we kinda got that vibe in the base game.

Seeing as you like to challenge yourself with this game judging from the latest timed quest, your thoughts on the difficulty level for the DLC preview?

i really dig the gilgamesh design, is more down to earth and human than before and he looks like a secluded kind of enemy; the mask is badass; don't see a problem in changing a bit from the formula.

So Gilgamesh got the
Ifrit & Bahamut treatment eh.
That's interesting.

There´s a famitsu poll about FFXV: https://ebssl.jp/fm2/enq/ffxv2/q.php
Of course said poll is in japanese but some of the questions and options on it seen very interesting, here is translation of that poll: http://fanboyarchive.com/famitsu-final-fantasy-xv-survey/

They might not mean much in the overall schemes but it´s interesting nonetheless.
I already filled it out from when it was posted on the FFXV subreddit. It'll be interesting seeing what answers make it.

Alright, I watched the 15 minute gameplay and, honestly, I'm not feeling this at all.

Good things first, the cutscene direction has clearly improved and I found the rock soundtrack pretty refreshing. The gameplay seems pretty mediocre though. I've seen it compared to Souls but it doesn't look nearly as methodical and just kinda button-mashy. Level design is almost non-existent, it's quite literally a hallway. Story premise sounds like a filler anime episode ("I must get stronger hurr durr") but I guess it can turn out alright if Gladio and Cor's relationship is handled well. Overall meh.

Why does XIII-2 have a better Gilgamesh design, this better not be how Gilgy looks throughout the entire thing, hell from the looks of it that didn't even need to be Gilgamesh at all. Could've named him Grand Master Yojimbo or something, or the Blade Master.

You know what

If you painted this design with the classic Gilgamesh colors it would look more like Gilgamesh, maybe change a few things, there.

Also isn't Gilgamesh the same person throughout all of his FF appearances?

I know FF8, and FFV Gilgamesh are the same thing, so what's going on here. Hell this guy doesn't even act like Gilgamesh.

That one armed ronin, better turn into a 8 arm psychopath looking for Bartz by the end of the DLC, or I'm gonna melt, until then #NotmyGilgy

New 10 min gameplay video of the Gladio DLC.

Really liking the dungeon design here. Very beautiful stuff.

It's in Japanese so no story spoilers here. Just enjoy the gameplay and visuals in this one.

Music is very DMC3 ish, which I'm ok with =D

Concept art for the DLC is quite interesting too. Very toothy glare from Gladio there.

Gladio's DLC's set up is a bit boring and dissapointing tbh. They said that it's going to reflect on his character, his family and Cor, so hopefully it'll become more personal rather than "I gotta get stronger" (which, admittedly, really fits his character).

Maybe it's me projecting my own assumptions of what Prompto and Ignis' DLCs are going to be like, though. Although I remember Tabata saying that Gladio's adventure was going to focus on action, while Prompto's would do such thing in regards to character development. Ignis' was about strategy I think, whatever that might end up meaning.

The combat system doesn't look too amazing, but I can't properly judge until I play it (which I don't think I will. Not soon enough, anyways. If it's a good piece of content, I might think about it, though).

I, too, am hoping for this.

To be honest, Episode Gladio is the DLC for which I'm the least excited about.

For what it's worth, I'm really liking the music and dungeon design, even though it is a bit linear, but I think SE are going for quality and atmosphere over making it too open just for the sake of being open here.

As for the gameplay, it's like watching streamers play FFXV before the game was released. Man those players were bad.

It wasn't until I played it for myself did I realize that I really like the gameplay... and that the people who played the game actually sucked and were just making the game look bad when it really wasn't.

That could be the case here too, so I'm going to wait and see.
