The new custom theme update is rather convienient, since i can basically bypass the restriction i faced from using any of Kingdom Hearts 2.8's due to receiving an EU copy lol (DLC being region locked and all...).
If we take it a step further, now all they need to do is make DLC region free.

Honestly, region locked DLC when games themselves are region free is completely ridiculous. Massive fail.

"Sawatari, speaking through a translator at this year’s PAX East in Boston, told us that Episode Gladiolus would be about one and a half to two hours in length. Once completed, multiple new game modes will open up, including a score attack mode where players will work to get the highest score and unlock additional rewards.

And yes, there are things that can be earned by succeeding in the DLC, but for now Sawatari is being tight-lipped about what they are."

“He has kind of this self reflection moment where he thinks, ‘I’m not strong enough. I’m not good enough,’” Sawatari said. “There’s this ruin that was discovered about 30 years prior to the main story, where previous Crownguards and shields of the king undergo this trial. And he decided that he needed to go through this to get the power he needed to be the rightful protector of the chosen king.”

nice that they tied the trial to his family legacy, like i imagined.

the lenght will probably be more than 2 hours if you count the other game modes the dlc offers.

Nice share.

Not sure why people are so keen on an Episode Iris. I've seen quite a few frantic requests for it. If it adds more to the story, then yes, go for it. I wouldn't be pleased if they do an episode on her just because she's cute.

The only time that it would make sense is if it covers her training with Cor, and her demon slayer role during the 10 years Noctis was asleep. If her episode goes deep into the darkness of what happens to the world during this time, then I would be very ok with an Episode Iris.

Story wise, aside from the 3 bros, the next high priority for a character DLC would be for Ardyn.

tbh i'd say luna should have more priority than the bros even lol.

your idea for episode iris would be great.
I'm gonna sound like a douche here, but I actually forgot about Luna...

That was pretty bad of me lol. I shall now revise my priority list for story purposes xD

But yes, that would be the only scenario in which I think Episode Iris would be relevant. Anything else and it would be a waste of development time and resources.

Being honest here, Iris is the last character i'd want an episode for, as likable she is.

Cor and Luna deserve one much sooner.
Same. Nice character and all but I have zero interest in playing as her for now.

For me, the priority list would be Ardyn, Luna, then Cor (he's been there since the beginning, all starting with Regis, so he knows a huge amount of story. Plus, his fighting animation is also done.)

If I had to pick 1 out of the 3, I'd pick Ardyn. He's too important to the story to be knocked down a few pegs in terms of priority.

Wondering if they'll ever address his father.

"Then about 30 years before the start of the main story there's a discovery of these ruins. Within these ruins are the bodies and the remains of the past Crownsguard from years and years back"

"And he has a special moveset called Glaive Arts. By chaining regular attacks together, that gauge gradually fills up, and each time it fills, there's a higher level Glaive Art that he's able to perform"

talking about who's dlc should be next lol

"Are there other characters you would like to explore once these three chapters are complete?

Sawatari: Outside of the three current episode DLCs, we don't have anything beyond that. But this year is all about giving back to our fan base, so if we were to continue the DLC, we would probably see what the feedback is. What character would you want to see a episode for?

Probably Iris.

Sawatari: [Laughs]

Or the boy who shows up 10 years later and picks you up in a truck because you're like, "How'd this kid survive?"

Sawatari: [Laughs] You've definitely proven that you've played it if you picked Talcott. The common answer is, "Oh, we want to see an Aranea episode."

(maybe i want a iris dlc...)

Episode Luna would just be a series of cutscenes. She's not really a warrior-type character. Better off patching that into the game somehow rather than wasting time giving her a combat scheme.

Wonder if both Prompto and Ignis are going to have their own "Cor" in their DLC. It's not that hard to imagine who could show up as such after playing the game, at least.

Spoilers for the whole game (not really, but better safe than sorry):
It'd be nice if Weskham was Ignis' guest character (it's not too hard to imagine that it will be about how he got the scar, in Altissia). The guy has a great design and it's a shame that he's just a glorified seller in the game.

Hopefully they make Prompto's gameplay fun, as firearms weren't very fun to toy around in the game, just as complements to other weapons (which makes sense for Noct). I guess we'll have the mechanics Nomura talked about during the Versus days (basically, a 3rd person shooter. Let's see how solid aiming and gun feel are and, also, how coherent they are within this game's battle flow).

Part of the FFXV Gilgamesh complaint is directed torwards his persona, in XV he (seenly) is not a badass goofball with heart of gold like in previous incarnation but instead is (seenly) just a badass edgelord.

I personally have no problem with FFXV take on the character though.

Seems they opted for the historical incarnation - who in history and myth was a "badass edgelord" -- or king, as it were.

I've always thought that an interesting way of doing an Episode Luna would be to base it on the time she and Noct spent together in Tenebrae and have it play like a puzzle-platformer. It'd give us the opportunity to explore Tenebrae, take advantage of the skills of a certain dungeon's designer, and help build the relationship between our male and female leads.

Here’s what’s being added to Final Fantasy XV’s Chapter 13
Sounds good, provided they do it right.

Spoilers for Chapter 13 and what's being added:
Controlling Gladio might be cool, but I hope it's not an escort mission with Ignis in such a state (although, by that point, he could already fight iirc, so I shouldn't worry).

And nice that we're getting to see Ravus and Aldercapt. Hopefully, they're meaty scenes and we get to see their motivations and their demise. Man, what a shitshow the vanilla game was in that and other regards.

I know I will still have problems with Noct's inability to sprint, though.
