Question for anyone who has played the game in both English and another language: has anyone noticed any "additional" info due to the different language translations?

For instance, in the German version, it was literally said that

1. Ardyn was executed by the jealous King, which would explain this concept art.

http://imgur.com/CGJt6rB

2. The parasite came from the meteor, which was captured by Titan, which was initially cast down upon Eos by Ifrit.

3. When Gentiana appears, he says that was the face she wore the day she died, whereas in English it was cut off.
I think this was stated in the Japanese version as well.

Anyone play the game in another language and notice any differences?

Holy hell Tenabre looks amazing, goddamit why wasent it in the game.
I kind of feel like the video ought to answer your question for you. As amazing as it looks, the lack of collision detection on any map element without automatic collision detection (i.e. the rails and the foundation layer) makes it clear that the area is nowhere near finished. =P

Talking about why wasent it in the game in its finished form. It already looks so good unfinished they should have completed it.

the same reason Zanarkand wasn't explorable as a city in FFX
the same reason Archades was only a tiny explorable area in FFXII despite being a enormous metropolis.

deadlines, budget, or it wasn't interesting to make them open in a story/gameplay perspective; just see the case of Shadow of the Colossus that had way more colossi, but they actually picked the most 16 entertaining bosses of the bunch to put in the game; i feel like i responded this a thousand times and you still making the same question lol get over it.

by your criteria we should be calling most games out there unfinished, which is ridiculous; the video is amazing tho, no doubt i'd wanted to explore it.

You know maybe if they cut out half the side quests, just maybe, just maybe they would have had time to make Insomnia explorable.

It was said in a interview (Japanese) that Nomura was still around in 2014. It isn't clear who was Director at this time, but Tabata claimed it was Nomura's idea to change Stella to Luna.

I don't have any links for these, as it was from a few years ago, but from my understanding, Nomura was still very much involved with the project until 2014. I personally think it was a case where, before leaving the project, Nomura made the final adjustments to the game and story, like changing Stella and left the completion of the project to Tabata with what remained.
roberto ferrari said in his facebook to "ask tabata about the removal of stella" because he implied it happened after the new team came along and tabata took the reins.

"Departure" is one of my favourite tracks in the album, especially the piano at the beginning of the piece.

I'll take a look today and see if, or how much, it has changed.

Read some of the comments and, I'm gonna have to agree that it's a needless change of fixing something that doesn't need to be fixed if they did change the music in this scene.

Anyway, I'll report back soon.

Edit: Just checked the intro.

They did indeed change the music. It's complete silence up until Regis tells him to be ready to leave home behind, then a very uplifting version of Dawn starts playing, ending on a majestic note with a hint of the FF prelude theme playing.

The original intro had more of a... sad, dramatic and final feel to it, forewarning that a dark tale is coming up, whereas this one is more... well up lifting and setting the pace for a "majestic and fantastical" journey.

This tells me that the team are going over the entire game, from start to finish, and trying to improve upon whatever they can, regardless of whether it's a necessary or unnecessary improvement (this is where opinion's come in I'd say).

Anyway, all I'm hoping for is that they notice how some scenes end too abruptly and/or transition roughly and haphazardly onto the next. Storytelling experience needs to be smooth and finely paced imo. For me, I think this is a top priority in improving the game.

Maybe if they cut those out it wouldn't have wasted disc space, the fact that they worked on them at all, is pretty jarring.
Side quests don't take up that much space. It's just generally code used on top of existing data. However when you have an entire field asset, there's a lot of work to be done. Creating the assets is just the easy part of the work, what comes after is what takes the most time. And that's debugging. Creating hitboxes for everything that requires hit detection, then you need to debug them so there aren't any holes (literally). But the bigger the asset becomes, that job becomes a needle in a haystack. Even then, you cannot fix every single hole. It takes months even years to clean up the majority of bugs.

I watched the JP audio commentary for Kingsglaive (watched because the audio plays on top of the movie) and found some interesting things that peaked my interest.

Glauca's armor is an ancient piece of armor from a ancient civilization that was excavated by the Empire and sort of infused with their Magitek technology.

John Campling, the model for Regis, whom considers his beard part of his charm had to shave it off for his initial 3D scan. He refused to do so at first, but the staff went in strong and eventually got him to shave it off... and they managed to capture the golden moment on camera. Though we will probably never get to witness that.

I think there were more tidbits in there, gonna listen to it again sometime this week.

Oh yes.......I will be doing this time limited quest a ton until it goes away. I finally have a good way of gaining AP that isn't going to take super long or be boring as hell. In Gravisphere I trust.

For the timed quests you get the rewards only once, the quest is repeatable though.
So, if you want a good chunck of AP you will have to either wait for the next time hunt or grind like you've normally being doing up to now.

Correct. I was just driving around on auto in the Regalia to get AP prior. This method, while not the most efficient, is keeping me engaged from an AP grinding aspect. Getting 50+ AP every 11 minutues I can deal with.

Facial profile is extremely close in likelihood.

Edit: here are some pretty great photos of Noctis. I dunno how people do it, the photos I take aren't anywhere near as good as these.

I can only remember grinding out two 999 AP abilities. I also ended up with about five or six 333 AP just through the course of the game (and even then, they were mostly for Costlemark's Menace Dungeon). I preferred the Blitzer/Warrior accessories and shield warp striking. That was ~7 per battle - made it much faster.
