Especially since Gaffers are going to approach it as a counter to the positive reviews in the first place. They do kind of read like "here's a list of things I didn't like about Kingsglaive, along with some nonsensical technical terms I've read from the cool people around here, so it looks extra authentic".

Yep. If you decide you're not going to like something before you try it, then you'll probably be right. He brought up some rational points, but it still reads like he was entirely focused on listing things he didn't like about it, which blows things out of proportion by definition.
Either way, it wasn't really all that bad of a take. Again, it just looks worse because it's all he cared about enough to say. But, I get the impression he'd give it like a 2.5 based on his other comments. And that's clearly the biggest outlier our there. There are a ton of reasons to take it with a grain of salt.

I think some of you are confusing what a "B movie" means. This term doesn't refer to movies with B ratings on an A-D scale, it refers to low budget hollywood schlocks. As opposed to big budget productions (A movies) and low budget artsy movies. Most video game movies are B movies and being considered one would definitely not be a good thing for Kingsglaive.
Either way, disregarding neoGAF and bad jokes about movie genres no one really cares about, I haven't heard much bad about the movie from most websites either and at the very least, I doubt it'll actually be a bad video game movie in the same vein as something like the Mario movie, Tekken movies and Angry Birds movie.
And even the one thing that worries me (Luna being kidnapped according to the trailer) I'm hoping is just them trying to sell some drama in the trailer.
