Has anyone heard a date for the December patch? Really cant wait to see the game running at a higher framerate, among the other things it sounds like it should be adding.

Yeah, I am talking about the performance patch for PS4 Pro for FF15. Sorry...for some reason I thought this forum was for 15 or I would have said that originally. At the moment I am kind of holding off playing as I want to play at a higher frame rate. Really hope the devs actually release this patch and don't leave the game in its current state.

FWIW, I've played it for about 130+ hours on a vanilla PS4. The frame rate was surprisingly stable, and the latest round of patches seem to have mitigated any frame pacing issues (and once upon a time, I lived & breathed the MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 specs). I can count on one hand the number of glitches I've encountered, and all were resolved by a fast travel.

On Pro it's lite mode or bust for me and even lite mode seems off at times right now. I would rather play an action oriented game at 60fps if able. Since an unlocked framerate was promised before the game came out for pro I really hope they don't drag their feet much longer on this. Sadly...this game was a pretty big part of my reason to get a pro in the first place =/

Lite mode is still 30fps cap unfortunately. When I say lite mode is off, it's because at times even it feels lower than 30fps. I am assuming this is the frame pacing issue that has been mentioned. Supposedly it is a problem in both modes, but lite mode doesn't suffer as much from it. There is one result on Google search for the patch where a guy says the game was already running at 60fps because his recording setup supposedly says it is, but the game sure as heck isn't breaking 30. Unfortunately I have been a PC gamer and console gamer all my life and being on PC most of the time, I am pretty sensitive to low frame rates. Some times I can get used to it...I platinumed Shadow of Mordor for instance...but that game never felt as bad as FF15 does at times.

We must have different definitions then. I equate lying to "purposefully telling a falsehood" rather than "realities of software development."
Then he shouldnt have said the patch was coming in December in the first place, he should have just said "sometime later". People probably bought ps pros so they could play this by years end in 60fps. It is a lie.

I will just try and keep holding off. May even restart the game if/when the patch does hit just to do a full play through at a higher framerate. I have plenty of other games to play around with right now...and at the moment, Terraria has mine/one of my daughters interest again on PC lol. Do hope this patch happens sooner rather than later though heh.
