Omg, at the end our/my concerns will have been for nothing. Everything that has been datamined sounds really promising.
At the end probably Episode Ardyn and Luna will happen after Noctis enters the Cristal. Being Episode Ardyn about the revelation of Bahamuth being more meaty.
Episode Luna with adult Noctis going somewhere before Insomnia, following the voice of Luna, and ending with her explaining a way to do things differently, and finally with Noctis deciding which route he will take. That or everything will happen inside the Cristal like in the Omen trailer.

But in this image i have in my mind i don't know how Luna would be playable (i can see her as a party member).

Damn so this means Episode Noctis is all but officially confirmed to be a missing piece of the original story and is actually gonna tie it all together. Color me excited.
I think it's worth pointing out that the dialogue from the datamined material is entirely consistent with (and honestly makes more sense for) a "But Thou Must" pseudo-choice. There is no real indication as to what would happen if Noct made any particular choice -- it could very easily be limited to a few different lines of dialogue, or even just a stat reward of one type or another.

I was thinking something similar to what you just said. On one hand, which I believe this to be the case, this dialogue could just be just like the Camelia trial when you're making choices, but it doesn't matter because you progress with the story as it is, anyway, but on the other hand, if this dialogue is for Episode: Noctis, then it could indicate that the four DLC Episodes could be integrated into the main game in some way, but I doubt it.

From what Sylva told me, there's actually two dialogue choices.

There's the two scenes for Bahamut with the no and acceptance answers. Apparently the scene has a few differences, but you're correct on the not really a choice to make in the matter, the other one from what I understand is the actually important one that has an actual use. He hasn't told me what it is exactly, just that it wasn't the usual junk rewards.

I might pop Sylva a message through Reddit as he's not on Discord at the moment. If he says it's cool to post, I'll just cap the message and post.

Oh ye, all that means new Final Fantasy XV Universe trailer in coming during TGS, probably, and maybe a date for Episode Ardyn... I hope.
oh man, i dont want to get hyped and get dissapointed.

yep they're totally showing new dlc content

Sylva's been pretty angry about it, since from what he said it sounds like so was the Royal Edition stuff as well.

Luna seems like she was supposed to be in Royal Edition, as well as the other content. There's also stuff about Ardyn in Japanese if you read Sylva's large pastebin link with some translations. There's some notes from me and a couple of other people in there and some of the other ones about words to clear things up for him.

The last topic isn't all he's found so far, but it's pretty frustrating to see. Sylva's actually going to be even worse about it all if it ends up as DLC.
I dont see why to be angry about this tbh, its content that wasnt ready at the time that they're willing to finish now, its what i've been asking them to do with other stuff like including the Dawn trailer and elements that werent in past trailers and so on.

btw he didnt found anything about lost CGs right?

Also why should we get angry over something they never promised in the first place.

It's more along the lines of he's gotten angry because he's said that there has been voice over, localization and everything else done for certain things and the files are simply not present at certain times, removed in others, and have turned up in DLC.

So that's why he was talking about this in his last topic, because from him kind of going into all caps yelling, he feels like completed content has been removed only to be put in as DLC at a later date. At least, I think that's what it's about.

I'm curious to see what happens, because he otherwise hasn't had any kneejerk reactions about things and I know he took what one of the reddit mods told him about not assuming things will be correct to heart. So I'm curious to see if he's just making himself angry, or if he's got a point somehow.

Waiting on his reply currently to go over the cutscenes currently, Storm.

Okay, here's a thought:

Per Sylva, the final choice with Bahamut matters somehow.

There are three options: god, king, and human.

There is not, presumably, significant dialogue to go with those options.

There are, however, three post-scripts in the final game.

Each post-script reflects one option:
- The recapitulation of the beginning reflects "human" insofar as it may have been used in the context of actually resetting time to allow Noct a normal life.
- The campsite scene reflects "king," because it shows Noct accepting his destiny and responsibility as king.
- The scene with Luna reflects "god," as it shows Noct and Luna as something more than human.

Maybe a decision was made to remove the choice so that all three post-scripts could be used in a single canon ending!

from what i understood, i dont think the "will i be a god, king or human?" were options but instead they were Noctis thoughts about his conditions; more like "what i will become after waking up?"

the only extra option in this case was rejecting Bahamut's will i think.

So that's why he was talking about this in his last topic, because from him kind of going into all caps yelling, he feels like completed content has been removed only to be put in as DLC at a later date. At least, I think that's what it's about.
in this case, that would be really bad.

Where is the "reject Bahamut's will" option in the datamined text?

To be fair, it's very common for games to ship with cut content. Reusing said cut content in DLCs doesn't necessarily imply that the content would have been included if there weren't any DLCs. The content might have simply been lost.

---

On a different note, the last time we had sales news, someone mentioned that FFX was around 8mil. If that's the case, FFXV might actually be the third best-selling FF (and overtaking FFVIII seems like it's only a matter of time).

(My life for the power to save the world...)
- I'll do it.
- I'm not ready.

"rejecting Bahamut's will" may have been a bit exagerated, but basically he doesnt accept the offer to sacrifice himself.

maybe if you chose this awnser bahamut would try to convince him somehow, and then you would be locked again with the first option...

Can you guys believe that in a few short months it would have been a year since that big patch last December that gave us character swapping? Wonder what they'll do to celebrate the game's 2nd year.. if they opt out for another big patch based on fan demand, I wonder what is more requested; more cutscenes or the DLC to be chronologically in the story? I don't see as many people talking about XV these days so it's hard to gauge what feature is highly wanted.

I can't imagine them doing another royal pack/ edition situation where its paid extra content for the main game, only Season 2 DLC Episodes. That would piss off the majority of the fan base and highlight "the main game is still not finished after 2 years after release". I think we will get free smaller updates/ gameplay mechanics that correlate to the Episodes. Also anything story related that patched in would go against what Tabata stated after the Royal Edition was released when he said the main story is complete.

Oh, that. XD I never considered even for a second that that was anything but a "But Thou Must." "I'm not ready" is the least firm rejection possible.

Yeah you're probably right, I got a bit ahead myself there cuz FFXV does a few instances of giving you "choices" in dialogue that don't really do anything. Oh well, still though it's gonna be cool seeing one of these dialogue choices matter in some way since they probably wouldn't have meant anything in the main game if they were included upon release. As long as we get more meaningful insight into the lore I'm excited to see what comes of this.

"I'm not ready"....

(ominous music) Bahamut: Humans are not worthy of guiding their own fate. The King will give his all...for our world, and humanity's future upon it.

Noctis brainwashed with the Ring's power. Prophecy fulfilled. Light restored. Astrals strike "owned it" pose.

Note: This is clearly not what happened. I think...
