I'm guessing the release date for the demo is next week on the 7th. I can't imagine Square not making a big deal out of a public demo announcement.

I hope the final game has some sort of animation cancel mechanique because otherwise (Cloud) combos look too unsafe & punisheable, particularly againts enemies with guns/long range attacks.

On another combo-related note, it seems like there are at least different moves in Punisher Mode based on distance to the enemy, so it's not 100% copy-pasted same combo every single time. Still, no sign of directionals or combo modifiers anywhere yet which I find quite concerning

The demo looks good, but not sure how I feel about
that story change with Shinra blowing up the reactor themselves instead of Avalanche being the ones who did it.

Yeah, also his base combo animation string on operator mode seems to have been changed again since the previous trailer and gameplay footage. Back at E3 his combo ender in operator mode was a different slash to what it is now, and he had a combo ender on punisher mode of him stabbing his sword into the ground kinda similar to how Gladio's Earthshatter technique does, though they changed his operator mode combo ender since then and also added some other in between animations now too. I'm not sure if that will be the fixed animation string the entire game or if it will change depending on weapon or equipment.

His Operator Mode combo string from E3

His current Operator Mode combo string

His Punisher Mode combo ender with the sword stab into the ground from E3

But at TGS in the Abzu combat footage the combo ender on Punisher mode appears different instead of being that ground slam, but he also has a different weapon equipped between the two footage.

I'm okay with this story change, as I see Shinra blowing up the reactor themselves as literally to build up propaganda, and as well as establishing themselves as evil early on, and they already told us to expect some new story content, and one reason I'm playing this gae, besides the game-play, is to see FF Vii's story in a new light in a sense, but don't get me wrong, I understand how you feel. However, I'm not sure if I would be okay with some things, such as if they decide to not kill Aerith off like sparing her somehow, as I feel that was an impactful moment in the game's story, which also made parts of the game's latter half sad for the party for example, and if the Watchmen of Fate end up going nowhere somehow, and end up 'foreshadowing' Aerith's death before it happens, then either parts of that would be wasted and would cheapen Aerith's death if we knew it was going to happen, but who know for sure./SPOILER]

Seems like the whole demo has been datamined now, I mean this was bound to happen when the demo would have released anyway, but now it happened much earlier than Square probably anticipated it.
