@Jubileus Who knows what they had written, but didn't have the time to work in. Ravus ad Luna may have indeed been intended to have more screen time, which we may still see later on. With the short comings the project had, I am okay with the overall product. At least we'll know for fact that some of the upcoming DLC is going to have weight to it, and it won't simply be more gameplay. FFXV does indeed have a lot of subtle things, and I'm starting to understand the design strategy of some things in the same (e.g. all of the hunts and radios) to help reduce chances of a player missing out on subtle details.
Oh don't get me wrong I enjoy the game as it is very much so. 160+ hours in and still counting since I haven't platinumed the game yet.

All this came about when I saw the Ardyn artwork and it intrigued me greatly since I want to learn more about his story.

I've only played FF7, 8, 10, and 13, but out of all those games, he is the best villain out of all of them imo.

His intriguing personality, motivations and what's revealed about his past make him more developed than any of the villains in the other games imo.

He's the only villain who actually makes sense, and wins.

Aye, Ardyn is interesting to say the least. I haven't played a lot of mainline FFs either, but I do have more questions about the character than ever lol. I apologize if I came across as thinking that you don't enjoy the game as is. I can tell from your posts that you do enjoy FFXV, while still understanding some of the flaws present.

Ardyn is probably my second favorite Final Fantasy villain, I will say he's much better than Ultimecia, but I'm not too sure if he's better than Sephiroth.
The FFXV cast might even be my second or first favorite main cast in all of FF, hell I like them so much, I question why they didn't just use those characters for Final Fantasy XIII, in fact I'd go as far as to say that if you took out the entire main cast of Final Fantasy XIII, replaced them with the Chocobros, took out the entire battle system(It sucks), and replaced it with a Kingdom Hearts esque battle system, with switchable characters, that alone would have shot FFXIII up from a 6/10 game to an 8.5/10 game for me, even if it was a hallway, even if encounters functioned the same way, even if the story was somewhat similar, would have made for a much better title.

I don't know about you guys, but apart me kinda wishes that the Final Fantasy Versus XIII concepts were used for Final Fantasy XIII, and the current FFXIII we know didn't exist, just wiped off the face of the planet, and my wished for FFXIII got a trilogy instead, and they just had it be Final Fantasy XIII, and Type-0.

Things probably would have still been problematic given what was going on in the background at SE last gen. What's done is done.

Oh I know the Crystal Tools nonsense, just kinda wish though, that the Lighting FFXIII just got scrapped entirely or used for something else, they use Nomura's Versus XIII idea and turn that into Final Fantasy XIII maybe repurpose some of those assets, if Crystal Tools was being a pain in the ass, they just use Unreal Engine 3, and have Crystal Tools be used for Type-0, and have that release for consoles, and PC. Have both Final Fantasy XIII Noctis Edition, and Type-0 release for PS3, Xbox 360, and Steam oh that would have been great.

My god reading the story about the Ifrit/Eo theory, it's just incredible.
It shows how actually important the Pitioss Ruins are and all these little things you can cover, but it's also sad that they don't tell it directly to the players.
These hidden, very interesting story parts in games are mysterious and gives the story a lot more potential, but I think there are many people who just play the game through and don't even know there's actually a lot more hidden story (like FF VIII about Ultimecia=Riona or Squall is just dreaming/dead).
I hope they will tell the story in the DLC's a lot more directly like about Ifrit, Eos, starscourge, Ardyn's past ect.

I think Ignis DLC will be about Starscourge, i remember Talcott said that Ignis did research it when Noctis was in the crystal.
Its just assuming, but there is not too much to cover in Altissia events from Ignis point of view, so i think part of his DLC will take place post timeskip.

On March 28, What will you play first?:
  • Episode Gladiolus
  • Chapter 13 (with adjustments)
Depending on how easy it is to go back to Chapter 13, I might just watch the cutscenes when they show up and play the Gladio DLC either before or after, depending on how soon they're uploaded. =P

I intend to do a full New Game+ once the changes to the main game seem to be complete; given the nature of some of the changes in the March update, it seems to make more sense to hold off until the other DLC episodes are released.
