Also: FWIW, I've seen some suggestion side quests have been removed... I'm not convinced that's the case. In terms of content, this feels identical to when I played the August "Master Disc" release for the first third of the game.
I thought the reason people were saying that was because the cat and broken down car sidequests didn't appear. Were those not in the August version you played?

I mean there is definitely not so much sidequests in final game, i've seen three from previews that missed from demo, but they surely make the world more life and vibrant.

Yes, they removed literally all sidequests except for bunch hunts. But im not sure about why enemies is sparse so much? Its demo related or its how it is in final game?
Its really hard to find enemies.

I haven't played that much, but this Chapter 1 played out pretty much identically to what I played (but I didn't see the cat thing either, to be fair). But I spent a fair amount of time in Chapter 1. The second/third Chapters were where sidequests really seemed to start to appear. As I saw it, as I experienced it, Chapter 1 was pretty linear in terms of actual quest objectives. This remains a broader concern of mine period, anyway -- in that in those later chapters the sidequests were pretty much go here kill this, grab this item, bring it back -- I didn't see much variety in that regard... and not many of them either. So I really hope that opens out later on.

But this does feel fairly representative of the chapter 1 I played, anyway. It was all about exploration, hunts, and advancing the main plot.

@APZonerunner I believe you that sidequests in chapter 1 is pretty much simple, i just think that the world is feel a little bit more alive and immersive when you meet a guy with a broken car on the road or lost man in the desert who asking you for potion, or that hungry cat at the pier and etc! All this stuff is nowhere to be seen in the demo!

Final game has 2 or 3 dungeons there too which are inaccessible in the demo version. I think there's enough side content in chapter 1 to come to grips with the gameplay, while advancing the story and exploring a little as you go, it's not expected to spend 20 hours in this region and turn around every rock like we've been doing.

I wonder if there are going to be more enemies when playing at normal difficulty, especially at night I don't find many enemies and when I do it's an iron giant and I have to cry myself to sleep later that night. Also super curious if this day 1 patch will improve these bugs and the camera.

@Storm Maybe this is Niflheim?

i think that's footage of imsomnia, it looks really similar to the area in Versus XIII 2011 trailer.

edit: i need to get this out off my chest, but i was worried the setting would be conflicted with this reality x fantasy approach where you have anime characters walking an american desert

the demo proved me wrong, everything mesh together so well, really happy with the feeling the world gives; it's original and fun.

be explorable, at least a tiny f*cking part.
Judging by the E3 trailer, there's at least one ridiculous driving setpiece set in Niflheim.

Yeah, I think Squenix did a very good job of evolving their Advent Children style into something realistic enough to mesh with the highly grounded world they made.

I showed my mom some of the Prompto pics and she asked if they were real people. XD

Only played about two hours, but -- it's good! Much improved. Remain unconvinced by how the combat will grow, but not long until I find out for real.

A side quest from Dave at an outpost past Hammerhead, to obtain a few dog tags, isn't in this demo, if I remember correctly. Apart from that, trailers suggest a side quest with a cat is also available at Galdin Quay, though it could likely be a quest unlocked later down the line.

Hmmm guys i found something pretty weird.
While walking around that huge rock where adamantoise is supposed to be (Yes, i was trying to spot him lol), and precisely on the west side, suddenly the game played that strange music that you can also hear when you are near the bandersnatch.
So i thought that i may have been getting closer to a big boss (adamantoise, again). Infact Noctis began walking as if he was in a dungeon (you know, sort of cautious pose).
Also i found a hole near the place where the music began playing. I think you can get through it cos its sufficely big, but i couldnt find a way to get in...
Anyway i think you can reach adamantoise by entering in that hole.
Just a theory :3

potato quality, but this is Niflheim (edited with quality pic).

Basically confirms that city he was driving by in the omen trailer was niflheim at the least. Really hope the areas surrounding niflheim, tenbrae, altissia, etc have some exploreable maps/roads to them. well we'll find out in the next 2 weeks

characters now move on the menu screen, whether you like it or not (i was fine with how it is apart for the character pose being the same even if he was dead).

even then, this shows that they're still including things, which is pretty cool.

edit: oh apparently there is a database menu now, jesus this game lol.

Seems like they changed the HUD again. Now the help prompts won't show you the button, but the 4 buttons and the one u gotta press lighted up. Its better this way lol, looks a bit more "premium". Is this from ps4 or xbox anyway? Also how did he get to play the final build lol, that looks a bit different from the other final builds.
