Final Fantasy XV - General News Thread

Due to tigh scheduling FINAL FANTASY XV will be present in a limited capacity at E3, debuting a short trailer.
Major reveals are slated for Gamescom and further events such as PAX and TGS.
Moreover, promotion begins at Gamescom. This implies both that the game is nearing completion, and that a release window will be announced at Gamescom (hard to promote your game without that).
I'd expect to see a full RD at TGS, thereafter.

Did they tease a summonable Titan in Duscae 2.0?
They said we'd no longer be able to glitch out to him, but we may still see him.
He was originally planned to be the Summon in the demo, but was cut for story reasons. (I'm guessing the fact he carries the shard gives his location away - but that is common knowledge now- so it wouldn't be an issue)

It was a joke that players would probably still find some other way to get to Titan.

At this point i'm indiferet to how much % completed is the game, i'm more interesting in the promotion they will do.
Moreover the big promotions itself doesnt always =level of completion, for instances you have MGSVTPP trailer from E3 that shows a lot of solid stuff and ends up having a september 2015 realese date.

They said they will finally "start promoting the main game" at Gamescom. That literally means we're at this point ( August 2015) roughly a year away from a release. And while I can't imagine that they don't use another E3 for a big info and attention bump, we probably won't get the full game in the next ~16 months at least. The Duscae 2.0 update is also a way to make the still relatively long wait for the game more acceptable.

Thinking summer 2015? :)

How many months do you realistically need to start promoting your game that has already been in production and people know about? I still think that early next year is very possible, but it would be more along the lines of April-June timeframe perhaps?

They took only 8 months of promotion with Type-0 HD, I don't see why they couldn't do something like that but with much more marketing behind it.

You usually need roughly ~1 year to promote a game properly.
I think a late summer release suits the given PR-schedule best right now and August/September/Oktober is a good timing for the game in general.
Do you really think they will skip the opportunity for a last big show off at E3 next year?

Tbh I'm still kinda hoping for a May release but I just don't think they can make it. It seems like they still have a lot of things to do and I rather wait another 6 months than having several things cut from the game.

You could honestly argue for a long time against wether they will use another E3 or not to dump info. Which is possible. But I don't think they will do that. We got gamescom first for info then Tokyo game show for info (Which I believe we will get tons of more info as it is their home turf so to speak) then towards the end of the year we got jump fiesta which I believe would be the last event they'd show it at other than if they had their own event.

Which I believe would be even more possible. With a game like FFXV that could really hurt the company it'd be wise for them to give it its own event and get the hype soaring.

Well, I'm not really sure if they would need E3 2016 at that point, if the game is going to come out a month later for example. It wouldn't even have a big showing, by that point, it should have already made the rounds across the entire globe from all the promotional events.

I've figured out a way to get further beyond the maps boundaries before getting the forced game-over.
Been getting pretty close to Lestallum. However, still getting cut off just short of getting a good view of it.
Will post a vid in a few days if I have some success.

Edit: Interesting. If you pass the stone arch on the far end of the crystal the map gets 'flipped'. You end up at the stone arch on the border of the gas station road. So you just go round in circles.
Still getting a game-over before Lestallum, but am edging closer and closer.
